Description
Careerscape is placing a Financial Analyst on a temporary basis with our client, a financial services company headquartered in downtown Los Angeles. This role supports the finance team during a period of increased workload, including quarterly reporting, budget variance analysis, and ad hoc financial modeling. The assignment is expected to run approximately four to six months.
The Financial Analyst will work directly with senior finance staff to prepare reports, reconcile accounts, and deliver analysis that supports business decisions. The role requires strong Excel proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
This is a fully on-site position at the company's downtown Los Angeles office. Candidates must be available to begin within two weeks of offer acceptance and commit to the full assignment duration.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders
Conduct variance analysis comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts
Build and maintain financial models in Excel to support planning activities
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
Support audit preparation by compiling documentation and responding to auditor requests
Track and report on key performance indicators for department leadership
Assist with the annual budgeting and reforecasting cycle
Coordinate with accounting and operations teams to validate financial data
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
2 or more years of experience in a financial analyst or comparable role
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet recurring deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
CPA or CFA candidacy is a plus but not required
