HHM Talent is assisting a client who is in search of an Automotive Controller in Hampton, VA. Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to oversee the accounting operations for two dealerships with a combined sales volume of approximately 200 units per month. Accounting for both locations is handled through a centralized office.ResponsibilitiesOversee accounting and financial operations for two dealershipsLead and support the centralized accounting teamManage month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and review dealership financial statementsEnsure accurate and timely manufacturer reportingOversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and deal accountingReview schedules, reconciliations, and financial controlsMonitor cash flow, expenses, profitability, and departmental performancePartner with dealership leadership to provide financial insight and support business decisionsMaintain compliance with manufacturer requirements and applicable accounting regulationsCoordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions as neededIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencyQualificationsPrevious experience as an Automotive Controller or in a comparable dealership accounting leadership roleExperience with CDK Dealer Management System is a mustStrong understanding of automotive dealership accounting and financial statement preparationExperience overseeing accounting for multiple rooftops is preferredProven ability to manage and develop an accounting teamStrong knowledge of dealership month-end closing procedures, reconciliations, and internal controlsHigh level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively with dealership leadership and accounting staffCompensation and BenefitsSalary up to $150,000, based on experienceRelocation assistance availableMedical and dental benefits available after 60 days of employmentTwo paid sick days per year after 90 days of employmentSix paid holidays annuallyPaid vacation based on length of service
