RESPONSIBILITIES:

 System Administration

  • Serve as the lead administrator for Oracle NetSuite and associated modules, including configuration updates, custom records, forms, saved searches, scripts workflows, and reporting structures.
  • Administer Planful and other planning/reporting tools (e.g., Spotlight) to support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting cycles.
  • Provide functional administration and support for ADP, Esker, Concur, Advanced Business Integrators (AB) time and attendance systems used by Finance.
  • Collaborate with IT to manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, and role/permission configuration across all finance systems, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties and audit compliance, and responsible for the reliability and integrity of all running finance systems.
  • Design and maintain role structures (including saved search, report, and budget access permissions in NetSuite) aligned to job function and internal controls requirements.
  • Own the end-to-end management of system updates, patches, and version upgrades (e.g., NetSuite bi-annual releases, Planful/Spotlight updates), including impact assessment, testing, and stakeholder communication and maintain a testing/sandbox strategy to validate changes before production deployment.
  • Train and support all end users on all financial systems.

Data Management and Development

  • Manage, build and monitor all data integrations and feeds within the technology stack for Finance with collaboration with IT to proactively and resolve failures, data discrepancies, and latency issues.
  • Continue to design and develop process automation and streamline financial and FP&A reporting.
  • Assist in the development of a new financial data warehouse to create a single source for all finance and accounting data and assume responsibility for oversight of the environment.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and change management protocols.
  • Evaluate new integration and automation opportunities, and scope, build, and test new connections as processes evolve.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom scripts and workflows in NetSuite (SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, workflow actions) to automate manual processes and enforce business rules.
  • Write and optimize SuiteQL and SQL queries for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting needs across Finance.

Optimization and Project Delivery

  • Expand system process documentation, standard operating procedures, accounting policies, and workflows with a critical eye for continuous improvement. Conduct access reviews and support internal/external audit requests related to systems access.
  • Collaborate with the IT, analytics, and other departments as the lead data governance manager.
  • Serve as internal point person on all financial end-user issues and manage relationships with all finance system-related partners.
  • Proactively evaluate and identify opportunities to implement system enhancements and integrations to an ever-evolving tech stack that will provide stakeholders with the tools they require in an efficient and secure manner.
  • Responsible for requirements gathering, timeline development, testing, and change management.

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 + years of hands-on experience with administrating NetSuite and integrations, with Administrator and SuiteScript certification preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures for reporting, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting and FP&A processes (close, audit, budgeting, forecasting, reporting), internal controls, and data security.
  • Effective collaborator able to bridge the gap between Finance and IT, translating concepts for all stakeholders to easily understand and apply.
  • Experience administering or integrating ADP, Esker, Concur, Salesforce and SharePoint.
  • Experience leading or supporting system upgrade cycles and cross-functional implementation projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and translate business requirements into system design with strong discipline in documentation.

About Company

The Boston Red Sox were established in 1901 as one of eight clubs to enter into the newly founded American League. Originally known as the Boston Americans, the team played its home games at the Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds in Boston before adopting the name Red Sox prior to the 1908 season and moving to Fenway Park in 1912.

The Sox captured the first ever World Series in 1903, and have gone on to win nine titles in all, as well as five additional American League pennants. Boston has also claimed 10 East division titles and seven Wild Card berths during that time.

A total of 45 former players, managers, and executives who spent at least a part of their career with the Red Sox are in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Today the Red Sox are led by owners John Henry, Tom Werner, and their partners, who purchased the team in December of 2001. Under their watch, the club has constructed the longest sellout streak in baseball history, renovated and preserved Fenway Park, and won four World Series, the first in 2004 which ended an 86-year stretch without a title.
