About the Role:
JD's Steaks LLC in Reading, PA is looking for a skilled Flat Top Cook to join our team and help us deliver delicious, high-quality food to our customers every day. If you love the energy of a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in your craft, this is the opportunity for you!



Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain a flat top grill to prepare menu items to order with speed and consistency, must know how to use a fryer also
• Cook cheesesteaks, burgers, and other grilled items to customer specifications
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper food safety and handling procedures are followed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
• Restock and prep ingredients, sauces, and toppings as needed
• Adhere to portion control standards to minimize waste and maintain food cost

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a short-order cook, grill cook, or flat top cook preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a warm kitchen environment
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
