The Fund Accounting Analyst role focuses on managing and overseeing fund accounting activities within the banking and financial services sector in New York.

Description

  • Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to improve private markets accounting and reporting processes.
  • Analyze and optimize workflows related to NAVs, capital activity, reconciliations, and investor reporting.
  • Translate business needs into requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for system enhancements.
  • Drive automation, data quality improvements, controls, and reporting efficiency across platforms and administrators.
  • Apply private equity/debt fund finance expertise and technical skills (Excel, SQL, Python) to deliver scalable solutions

Profile

A successful Fund Accounting Analyst should have:

  • 5-8 years of experience in finance/business analysis in private markets.
  • Strong knowledge of private markets fund accounting, including NAVs, capital calls, distributions, fees, carried interest, and investor reporting.
  • Experience implementing or enhancing fund accounting and portfolio management platforms such as Allvue, Investran, Geneva, or Yardi.
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, with SQL and Python strongly preferred; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and technology teams.
