Position Overview

Fund Setup Specialists are responsible for coordinating and executing the operational and structural setup of new investment funds. The role focuses on ensuring all systems, service providers, documentation, and processes are properly established prior to trading and capital deployment.

This position requires close collaboration with internal investment, operations, compliance, and technology teams, as well as external partners such as legal counsel, fund administrators, auditors, custodians, and prime brokers.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the end-to-end setup of new investment funds prior to launch

• Support fund structuring, entity formation, and onboarding workflows

• Partner with legal and compliance teams to assist with documentation and regulatory filings

• Manage relationships and onboarding with external service providers (fund administrators, prime brokers, custodians, auditors)

• Oversee operational setup across trading, accounting, reporting, and investor servicing systems

• Ensure accurate data setup for portfolios, benchmarks, fee structures, and reporting frameworks

• Develop and maintain setup checklists, timelines, and documentation

• Conduct pre-launch operational testing and readiness reviews

• Identify setup risks, gaps, or inefficiencies and drive resolution

• Prepare setup status updates and documentation for senior management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

• Understanding of investment fund structures and asset management operations

• Experience or exposure to fund setup, fund operations, compliance, or financial services project management (preferred but not required)

• Strong organizational and execution skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously

• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with fund accounting systems, workflow tools, or reporting platforms is a plus

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

• Professional demeanor and comfort working with senior internal and external stakeholders

• Strong interest in fund operations, asset management, and investment products
