This position is only open to current Pacific University Students
Purpose of Position:
The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) provides information, analytics, data visualizations, and reports regarding Pacific University and the higher education environment. The OIRA Office Assistant will help with a variety of office tasks. Work will occur on the Forest Grove campus and remotely, with regular in-person or zoom check-ins and supervision from OIRA staff.
This position is a good fit for any student with motivation to learn new skills, organization and attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an office and online environment.
The OIRA Office Assistant must be able to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality and data security.
Students with an interest in data science, statistics, or social science methods / applied research may have opportunities to develop further skills and gain additional experiences in these areas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- -Clerical tasks related to organizing and arranging digital materials in Box folders and other organizational structures and storage systems
- -Entering data and information into spreadsheets and forms
- -Performing Web searches and maintaining records of online sources
- -Creating slides, posters, and other visual materials
- -Using Microsoft Office and Google suite tools, and Adobe Creative Cloud for various clerical tasks.
- -Using data analysis and visualization software
- -Developing and applying topical categories to qualitative data sets
- -Participating in team meetings
- -Most tasks are mostly performed on one's own, but are coordinated among a team of staff and students.
