IT Business Analyst

Under general supervision, the IT Business Analyst analyzes enterprise-wide customer business needs & participates in the planning, design & implementation of new or enhanced systems or reporting/analysis on multiple IT development projects. Responsibilities include:

• Participates in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases, scope, and requirements relating to requests for new systems or existing system changes
• Primarily support IT acquisition of products or services by developing scope/statements of work, compliance documents, and procurement documents
• Consults with project teams and architects to identify currently know solutions or performs market research
• Gathers information/documentation from vendors or contractors
• Translates business needs into requirements and functional/non-functional specifications
• Gather, clarify/define, and document scope, business scenarios, workflows, requirements, etc.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and JAD sessions
• Analyzes and validates business requirements and processes, identifies opportunities for process enhancement to benefit the Department, identifies gaps in information
• Uses a structured process to define priorities and opportunities and/or works with stakeholders to define the minimum viable product (MVP) and options for improvements via subsequent phases
• Produces required work artifacts
• Communicates and presents client's business requirements to implementation teams
• Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and system architects
• Works with the team to define acceptance criteria or other metrics/performance goals for the system
• Provides status updates, completes weekly work time logs, updates work tickets weekly
• Provide estimates and target dates for task completion for incorporation into project schedules or work tickets

Work Terms and Conditions:

• 8 Hour workdays on a fixed schedule (i.e. not a flex-schedule), starting no earlier than 7:00AM Eastern Time, starting no later than 9:00AM Eastern Time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

Required/Desired Skills

BS/BA in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.) - Required - 4 Years

IT business analysis work experience in software development, project management, or technology implementations/support - Required - 5 Years

Experience with Microsoft Office Professional, including Visio - Required - 5 Years

Experience with data and business process analysis - Required - 3 Years

Experience in developing statements/scope of work for contracting and procurement - Required - 3 Years

Work experience in reviewing software license, service, or support level agreements - Required - 0

Experience with procurements or solicitations, developing scopes of work or statements of work. - Required - 3 Years
