General Manager

The role

At Culver's, our mission is that every guest who chooses Culver's leaves happy. Our Bettendorf restaurant is looking for a General Manager who makes that happen through people. This is a leadership role, not a do-it-all role. You'll run the restaurant by coaching, developing and supporting a team of managers, and you'll be rewarded for results. What you'll do

• Lead the leadership team. Coach, train and develop our assistant managers and managers so they grow into strong leaders.
• Oversee day-to-day operations. Make sure scheduling, truck orders, labor and quality are handled well by your managers, stepping in to guide rather than doing every task yourself.
• Build a great team. Hire genuinely kind, caring people through a fair process, and create a culture where everyone gets a fair shot.
• Keep people. Own crew and manager retention, so good people want to stay and grow with us.
• Take care of guests. Hold the team to Culver's standards for quality, hospitality and guest satisfaction.
• Run the business. Manage food cost, labor and the other measures on our operations dashboard, and grow sales year over year.

How success is measured

Your results are tracked on the same operations dashboard our restaurant is measured on, including employee retention, manager retention, food cost and guest satisfaction scores.

• Meeting the standard is the baseline expectation.
• Going above it on each area earns a monthly bonus, and hitting the top rating earns more.
• Growing sales year over year earns an additional quarterly sales bonus, with progress shared every month.

Your bonus is built entirely on results, so what you earn is in your hands.

• A proven coach with a track record of developing managers and crew into stronger performers.
• A genuinely kind, caring person who hires people with the same heart.
• Fair and consistent: you reward hard work, not friendships.
• Experienced in restaurant or retail management, with a solid grasp of food cost, labor and sales.
• Comfortable with back-office systems and open to learning new tools and better ways of doing things.

What we offer

• A $60,000 base salary.
• Monthly performance bonuses tied to the dashboard, plus quarterly sales-growth bonuses. Top performers can earn $90,000+ a year.

In 1984, Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver's in the family’s beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and began serving ButterBurgers® and Frozen Custard.
