A Plant/Operations Lead responsible for overseeing all facility operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads the operations team, manages budgets, maintains equipment and processes, and ensures exceptional customer satisfaction. The manager is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and the overall performance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, develop, and supervise team members across cleaning, wash-floor, finishing, logistics, and maintenance functions.
Create a strong culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching, performance management, and daily leadership to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Operations Management
Manage day-to-day cleaning plant operations including intake, inspection, cleaning cycles, drying, finishing, packaging, and dispatch.
Ensure proper handling of rugs, carpets, specialty textiles, and delicate materials.
Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals, supplies, rugs in process, and customer items.
Oversee scheduling, production flow, and turnaround times to meet or beat service commitments.
Financial Management
Manage operating budgets, analyze financial results, control costs, and ensure efficient resource use.
Identify savings opportunities in chemical usage, energy consumption, labor planning, and waste reduction.
Review data and reports to improve profitability and operational accuracy.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce all facility safety standards, chemical-handling protocols, PPE use, and equipment procedures.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to water discharge, chemical storage, and waste disposal.
Conduct safety training, audits, and corrective actions to maintain a zero-incident environment.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to increase cleaning efficiency, reduce rework, and improve overall cycle times.
Use data, KPIs, and system tools to optimize workflows from intake to final packaging.
Implement standard operating procedures and best practices for consistent quality and speed.
Customer & Quality Focus
Ensure all cleaning meets company quality standards, including stain removal, odor elimination, fabric protection, and proper drying.
Resolve customer issues regarding damaged items, delays, or quality concerns.
Partner with customer service and sales teams to ensure smooth communication and high satisfaction.
