General Superintendent / Construction Manager – Underground Wet Utilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent / Construction Manager to oversee field operations for underground wet utility and heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing crews, superintendents, equipment, and multiple projects involving water, sewer, storm drainage, and underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations across multiple underground utility projects
• Lead and manage superintendents, foremen, and field crews
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, and resources
• Coordinate project schedules with Project Managers and field teams
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications
• Monitor production, quality, and project progress
• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, general contractors, inspectors, and subcontractors
• Identify and resolve field issues and construction conflicts
• Review plans and specifications and provide constructability feedback
• Ensure proper installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, and related underground utilities
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and manpower forecasting

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in underground utilities or heavy civil construction
• Previous General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or Construction Manager experience preferred
• Strong background in water, sewer, storm drainage, and underground utility installation
• Thorough understanding of underground construction means and methods
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
• Strong understanding of construction safety and quality control
