POSITION SUMMARY

A Recreation Center Guest Services position involves maintaining the setup, orderliness and appearance within the Fieldhouse & Community Center and ensuring a positive, safe, and informative experience for all patrons. Key duties include setting up gym and classrooms for special events as well as maintaining a professional, helpful demeanor. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Customer Service: Create a welcoming and safe atmosphere for community members.
• Facility Operations: Maintain an organized approach to setting up and tearing down event spaces. 
• Policy Enforcement: Ensure patrons adhere to center rules and procedures, maintaining a safe environment.
• Administrative Tasks: Follow calendar of reservations for set up and tear down of events, communicate effectively with Facility and Operations Manager and/or Manager on Duty, complete incident reports.
• Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action.
• Oversight of birthday parties and open gym time.
• Must be 17 years of age or older.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

• Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, courteous, and helpful attitude.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of recreation programs and center policies. 
• CPR and First Aid certification required within the first 30 days of employment at no cost.
• Navigate computer software for scheduled reservations.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

• Reports directly to the Facilities and Operations Manager and/or Manager on Duty.
