About this role

Andrenam is looking for a Head of Finance to build and lead our finance function from the ground up. This is a founding role: youll set the financial strategy, stand up the systems and processes we dont have yet, and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team as we grow in the maritime autonomy and defense industry.

Youll own everything from day-to-day accounting to long-term financial planning, and youll be the person leadership turns to for the numbers behind every major decision.

In this role

• You will develop and implement our financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, and advise senior leadership on the decisions that strategy should drive.
• You will lead the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
• You will own the budgeting and forecasting process end to end, translating the numbers into recommendations leadership can act on.
• You will manage our relationship with external auditors and ensure smooth year-end audits.
• You will support fundraising and investor relations, building the financial models, presentations, and due diligence materials investors need.
• You will oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to keep operations and growth initiatives funded.
• You will build the capital management strategy that determines how we allocate resources as we scale.
• You will establish and continually improve our financial systems, tools, and processes so our infrastructure scales with the company.
• You will run day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
• You will oversee tax compliance across sales, payroll, and federal and state filings, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed.

What were looking for

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 10-15+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.
• Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Expertise in financial accounting, compliance, and reporting.

Nice to have

• MBA or CPA.
• Experience with fundraising, venture capital, and investor relations.
• A track record of building financial systems and processes from scratch.
• Experience in manufacturing, technology, or aerospace.
• Experience managing state, federal, and local tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax.
• Experience streamlining accounting processes or implementing new financial systems to improve efficiency and scalability.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Andrenams total compensation package.
