HOUSEKEEPER

JOB DUTIES:

• Routinely cleans patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms and corridors, as assigned
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure with focus on safety
• Use and maintain equipment properly with focus on safety
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
• Replenish supplies
• Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
• Cleans and maintains carpet and tiled floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip, and wax floors on a rotating basis
• Observes safety precautions at all times
• Maintains confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

The Housekeeper assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
• Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
• Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and local regulations
• Able to work among cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• S. Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience in field, required

• Housekeeping experience, preferred
