HR Generalist

HR Generalist | Charlotte, NC

A respected, growing construction firm is adding an HR Generalist to its team in Charlotte. This is a high-visibility role that works directly with leadership and supports both office staff and field teams.

What You Will Do

• Run full-cycle onboarding and offboarding, including new-hire paperwork, I-9/E-Verify and orientation
• Serve as the go-to resource for employee relations, policy questions and conflict resolution
• Administer benefits enrollment, leave of absence and workers' compensation claims
• Support payroll processing and keep HRIS records accurate
• Partner with hiring managers on recruiting for project management, field and office roles
• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, OSHA recordkeeping and company policies
• Help with performance reviews, training programs and employee engagement initiatives
• Maintain and update the employee handbook, job descriptions and HR reports

What You Bring

• 3+ years of HR generalist experience; construction or multi-site experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of employment law, benefits administration and payroll
• Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms
• SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment and absolute discretion with confidential information
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization
