Overview:
TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist in San Jose, CA to join our team. The HR Generalist is responsible for assisting and supporting HR-related duties on a professional level. The HR Generalist works closely with other members of the project’s Finance and Administration team, as well as Herzog’s Corporate HR team in supporting the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefit administration, onboarding, reconciliation of reports, employee relations, and leave of absence.
The pay range for this position is $86,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Tracks and monitors employees who are out on FMLA or LOA under the Americans with Disabilities Act, preparing and reviewing documentation where necessary.
- Addresses employee questions/claims related to all health/welfare benefits; when necessary, liaises with Corporate office to ensure all questions/claims are promptly and completely addressed.
- Reconciles reports related to benefits.
- Assists in completion of new hire onboarding, creating and maintaining all relevant new hire files.
- Coordination and support of all departments.
- Complies with federal and state regulations as well as contract adherence.
- Ensures security of and exercises integrity when handling confidential and highly sensitive information.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are required.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years benefits/leave administration experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Must be a self-starter and proficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and advanced computer literacy skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
