    About the Position

    LIVE is seeking a Human Resources Specialist (Retirements) to support our U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) HR Staffing Support Services task order for the Office of Civilian Human Resources (PSC-CPM), based at USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC. The HR Specialist (Retirements) reviews and advises on voluntary and disability retirement cases and prepares retirement estimates for federal employees. This is a non-supervisory (non-Key) role. Telework may be approved for certain tasks subject to COR approval.

    Responsibilities

    • * Review retirement packages for voluntary and disability retirement cases.
    • * Conduct advisory services for voluntary and disability retirement cases.
    • * Run retirement estimates and conduct advisory services on the content of the estimates.
    • Requirements

    • * Minimum of six (6) years of experience performing HR retirement support services.
    • * Expert knowledge of federal retirement benefits and eligibility and the rules and regulations pertaining to them.
    • * Skill in independently reviewing and advising on federal retirement benefits and eligibility.
    • * Skill in coding and processing retirement personnel actions in accordance with OPM's Guide to Processing Personnel Actions.
    • * Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
    • * Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) via the Mission Partner Identity, Credential and Access Management (MP ICAM) process and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), and to safeguard unclassified but security-sensitive and Privacy Act–protected information.
    • Preferred Qualifications

    • * Prior federal retirement counseling experience within DHS, the U.S. Coast Guard, or another federal agency.
    • * Experience advising employees on FERS and CSRS retirement options and disability retirement processes.
