    Human Resources Generalist

    Deceuninck North America is seeking an HR Generalist for its Monroe, OH headquarters.

    The HR Generalist provides day to day Human Resources support to employees and leaders across the organization. This position serves as a primary point of contact for employee questions and supports a broad range of HR activities including employee relations, attendance, recruiting and onboarding, benefits and leave administration, performance management, HRIS administration, training, compliance, and employee engagement.

    The HR Generalist works closely with employees, supervisors, and managers to ensure HR policies and processes are applied consistently while supporting a positive, productive, and compliant workplace. This role requires a strong presence within the operation and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Employee Relations and Leadership Support

    • Serve as a day to day HR resource for employees, supervisors, and managers regarding policies, procedures, workplace concerns, and general HR questions.
    • Support employee relations matters, including gathering information, conducting investigations, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate next steps in partnership with HR leadership.
    • Coach supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance, attendance, corrective action, and policy application.
    • Assist with corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and other employee documentation.
    • Promote consistent and fair application of company policies and practices.

    Administration

    • Administer and monitor attendance programs, including reviewing attendance records, identifying employees approaching thresholds, and partnering with leadership on appropriate action.
    • Process employee changes including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, status changes, and terminations when needed.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure required documentation is completed and retained appropriately.

    Recruiting and Onboarding

    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support staffing needs and recruiting activities.
    • Coordinate and support new hire orientation and onboarding.
    • Ensure new hire documentation, employment eligibility requirements, and HRIS information are completed accurately and timely when needed.
    • Support efforts to improve new hire retention and the overall onboarding experience
    • HRIS and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS and other HR systems.
    • Process employee data changes and conduct routine audits to ensure data integrity.
    • Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics related to staffing, turnover, attendance, overtime, retention, and other workforce trends.
    • Identify trends or areas of concern and communicate findings to HR and operational leadership.

    Performance Management and Training

    • Support performance management processes, including annual reviews, goal setting, coaching, and performance improvement activities.
    • Assist with tracking required employee and leadership training.
    • Partner with leaders to identify training or development needs.
    • Support career progression and employee development initiatives as applicable.

    Employee Engagement and Communication

    • Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, surveys, and company events.
    • Assist with preparing and distributing employee communications.
    • Maintain a visible HR presence throughout the facility and build relationships with employees across departments and shifts.
    • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience, communication, and retention.

    Compliance

    • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
    • Assist with HR audits, reporting requirements, and maintenance of required records.
    • Support workplace investigations and documentation while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
    • Participate in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.

    General HR Support

    • Assist with benefits administration and employee benefit questions.
    • Support payroll by researching employee information and resolving HR related discrepancies as needed.
    • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Provide backup support to other members of the HR team.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor''s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • I -3 years of Human Resource experience required, 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience preferred, ideally in a Generalist or similar role.
    • Experience supporting employees in a manufacturing, distribution, or other hourly workforce environment strongly preferred.
    • Experience with employee relations, investigations, attendance administration, and performance management preferred.
    • Experience using an HRIS required; Paycor experience is a plus.
    • SHRM CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
    • Strong employee relations and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and recognize when issues should be escalated.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
    • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader HR team.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.

    Work Environment

    This position supports a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with employees throughout the facility. The HR Generalist must be comfortable spending time both in an office setting and on the production floor.

    The position may require flexibility in work hours to provide appropriate HR support across multiple shifts and respond to operational or employee needs.
