Acting as a key partner to HR and business leaders, this role supports the full employee life cycle and serves as a go‑to resource for HR processes, systems, and administration. The HR Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring seamless execution of HR operations, while also contributing to special projects and continuous process improvements.CORE JOB DUTIESSupport documentation and data entry for new hire entry and organizational changes in our HRIS system, Wurk (new hires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, etc.).Respond to employee and applicant inquiries regarding policies, benefits, hiring processes, verifications, and unemployment; escalating complex matters as appropriate.Own the process for onboarding new employees, including sending offer letters, generating background checks, and providing managers and employees updates on the process.Maintain onboarding experience in Greenhouse onboarding, reviewing the process and supporting documents for accuracy and making recommendations for changes or updates as necessary.Manage and audit employee personnel files to ensure accurate and compliant record‑keeping.Process unemployment claims, terminations, severance paperwork, and organizational change requests.Support Recruiting by tracking openings, updating offer statuses, and communicating with hiring managers and recruiters.Utilize HR systems and tools effectively, including DocuSign, Greenhouse, Wurk (HRIS), Microsoft Excel/Word, and unemployment portals.Conduct ad hoc audits and provide support for performance, benefits, and compensation review processes.Update HRIS system for new and changes to union dues for employees.Review system data for auditing and accuracy on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) and pull specific audit documentation as needed.Create and maintain SOPs and HR process documentation, contribute to administrative HR project support and other special assignments as needed.Provide support for new system access, password reset, or how to update account information.Perform additional duties as assigned.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLSBachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.2–3 years of hands‑on HR experience across multiple functional areas.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
