Job Summary

Join our Service Department as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, where your expertise is respected, your growth is supported, and your success in the field matters.

You'll be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing commercial HVAC/R systems, including forced air, hydronic, split systems, package units, make-up air, exhaust systems, and controls.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems (up to 1,000 tons chiller/up to 12M BTU)
  • Perform preventive maintenance, seasonal inspections, and system cleaning
  • Service advanced equipment, including boilers (up to 150 HP), chillers, AHUs, VFDs, and control systems
  • Install and support new HVAC systems, including pump alignment and system startups
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control components
  • Complete service documentation and maintain accurate job records
  • Communicate clearly with customers, providing honest recommendations and solutions
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Support commissioning efforts and coordinate with engineers and owner representatives
  • Apply local HVAC codes, safety standards, and company protocols on all work
  • Prepare for on-site work by reviewing layouts, gathering materials, and anticipating challenges
  • Maintain service vehicle and tools in good working condition
  • Mentor junior technicians as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC service
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Working knowledge of electrical and control systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • MUST be willing to join the local UA

Compensation Range: Per current CBA, Journeyman package ranges from $50-$54 per hour on the check, with a total compensation package of $71-$75 per hour, depending on experience
