Position SummaryThe ideal candidate is clinically strong, dependable, comfortable working independently, and eager to grow. This position will support ketamine and wellness infusion services, general clinic operations, clinical research activities and other infusion services.
This role is well suited for a nurse who enjoys variety, takes ownership of responsibilities, anticipates team and patient needs, and is willing to step in wherever clinical support is needed.
Key Responsibilities· Support outpatient clinic operations & assist providers with clinical needs, patient care, procedures, & workflow.
· Support clinical research activities, i.e., blood draws, infusions, documentation, & other study-related nursing responsibilities as assigned.
· Provide nursing care for ketamine infusions, i.e., patient preparation, IV placement, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, & post-infusion care.
· Provide wellness & other IV infusion therapies in accordance with established protocols and provider orders.
· Perform peripheral IV insertion, venipuncture, blood draws, & other specimen collection.
· Perform specimen labeling, processing, handling, packaging, storage, & coordination of specimens for transport/shipment to laboratories in accordance with applicable protocols.
· Obtain and document vital signs and perform ongoing clinical assessment & patient monitoring.
· Recognize changes in patient condition, respond appropriately, & escalate concerns to the appropriate provider when indicated.
· Complete accurate & timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record & applicable research or infusion records.
· Assist with orders, forms, paperwork, medication-related documentation, & other required clinical records.
· Coordinate effectively with providers, nursing staff, research personnel, administrative staff, patients, laboratories, & outside vendors as appropriate.
· Maintain safe, organized, well-stocked clinical & infusion areas & proactively identify supply or workflow needs.
· Follow established policies, procedures, infusion protocols, infection-control practices, and emergency-response procedures.
· Participate in cross-training & ongoing education as services & clinical responsibilities expand.
Required Qualifications· Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
· Strong peripheral IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.
· Strong clinical assessment, patient-monitoring, and communication skills.
· Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and organized clinical documentation.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
· Sound clinical judgment and the ability to recognize when escalation or provider involvement is needed.
Preferred Qualifications· Ideally 1-3 years Emergency department, intensive care, critical care, PACU, or other acute-care nursing experience.
· Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
· Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
· Previous infusion nursing experience.
