Interim Payroll Manager

About the Opportunity

LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a Columbus-area employer in identifying a Payroll Manager for a contract engagement. This individual will oversee payroll operations, ensure compliance with payroll regulations, and manage the accurate processing of employee compensation across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state employee populations

• Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing

• Oversee payroll audits and reconciliations

• Maintain payroll records and reporting requirements

• Partner with HR and Finance teams regarding compensation and benefits changes

• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries

• Support year-end activities, including W-2 processing and tax reporting

• Identify process improvements and workflow efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred

• 5+ years of payroll experience

• Prior payroll leadership or supervisory experience preferred

• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Ceridian, or similar platforms

• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements

• Advanced Excel skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
