Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) – Travel Contract (Temp to Perm)
Location: Plano, TX 75093
Schedule: Day Shift | 42 Hours per Week | 13 Weeks
Shift Timing: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 4 Days per Week (Rotating Day Off)
On-Call Requirement: Yes | 12–14 Call Days per Month | 30-Minute Response Time Required
Position Summary
A leading Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Plano, Texas is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13-week contract assignment with strong potential for temp-to-perm conversion.
This role supports high-acuity neuro, vascular, and general interventional radiology procedures in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong neurointerventional and stroke experience, with the ability to function independently in emergent and time-sensitive situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during neuro, vascular, and general interventional radiology procedures
- Perform scrub, circulating, and monitoring duties in the IR suite
- Support stroke and trauma-level interventional procedures, including emergent cases
- Operate and assist with advanced imaging and IR equipment
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards
- Monitor patient condition and hemodynamic status during procedures
- Prepare and administer contrast media as directed
- Respond promptly to emergency IR cases within required response time
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (12–14 days per month)
- Ensure accurate and timely procedural documentation
- Maintain equipment readiness, safety checks, and efficient room turnover
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary stroke, neuro, and trauma teams
- Follow radiation safety protocols and hospital compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active ARRT Certification required
- Active Texas Radiologic Technologist License required
- 2–5 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Strong neurointerventional radiology experience required
- Comprehensive stroke center experience required
- Level II trauma experience required
- Strong vascular and neuro IR procedural competency
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes for on-call emergencies
- Experience in high-acuity hospital settings
- Strong sterile technique and procedural support skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience
- Neurovascular intervention experience
- Previous travel IR experience
- Experience with high-volume stroke thrombectomy cases
- Strong teamwork and critical care collaboration skills
