Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 per year
A bit about us:We are a well-established, entrepreneurial family office with a long history of building, acquiring, and investing in businesses across a diverse range of industries.
Unlike a traditional private equity fund, we invest permanent capital with a long-term mindset. This gives our team the flexibility to pursue compelling opportunities without being constrained by a traditional fund lifecycle or rigid investment mandate.
Our portfolio spans multiple industries, and our lean investment team works closely with senior leadership and the family principal to evaluate new investments, support existing operating companies, and identify opportunities to create long-term value.
We are looking for an Investment Associate who wants to take the analytical foundation they've developed in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a similar environment and apply it in a broader, highly entrepreneurial investing role.
Why join us?- Exceptional work-life balance for an investing role – generally 40–50 hours per week with a more traditional daytime schedule
- Competitive compensation with an anticipated $150K–$175K base + performance bonus, depending on experience
- Work with permanent capital rather than operating within a traditional fund lifecycle
- Direct exposure to senior leadership, including the President of the family office and family ownership
- Participate in the entire investment process, from sourcing and initial evaluation through underwriting, diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio strategy
- Evaluate opportunities across a variety of industries rather than being limited to one narrow sector
- Gain exposure to both new investments and existing operating companies
- Highly entrepreneurial environment where you're encouraged to generate ideas, identify opportunities, and make recommendations
- Lean team structure providing significantly more responsibility and visibility than you'd typically receive at this level
- Collaborative, low-ego culture without the traditional "sharp elbows" often associated with investment banking and private equity
- Long-term career opportunity with the potential to grow within the investment organization or eventually take on leadership responsibilities across portfolio companies
- Strong benefits, including health insurance, PTO, and a competitive 401(k) match
- Opportunity to build a long-term career with an organization investing for generations rather than the life of a fund
Job DetailsWe are seeking an Investment Associate to work directly alongside senior members of our family office evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting strategic initiatives across our existing portfolio.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the analytical and strategic side of investment banking or private equity but is looking for broader responsibility, greater exposure to decision-makers, and a much more sustainable lifestyle.
You will still be expected to roll up your sleeves and handle the modeling, valuation, and analytical work, but you won't be limited to Excel. You'll have the opportunity to participate in strategic conversations, develop investment theses, source opportunities, and make recommendations directly to leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify, research, and screen potential investment and acquisition opportunities
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective investments
- Perform detailed financial modeling, valuation, and investment underwriting
- Analyze financial statements, operating performance, market dynamics, and potential returns
- Conduct industry and market research to identify attractive investment themes and opportunities
- Support due diligence and transaction evaluation
- Prepare investment recommendations, presentations, and materials for senior leadership
- Participate in strategic discussions surrounding prospective investments
- Generate ideas and proactively identify new investment opportunities
- Work directly with existing portfolio companies on strategic and financial initiatives
- Support senior leadership with ad hoc financial, investment, and strategic analysis
- Continuously improve financial models, underwriting processes, investment materials, and diligence procedures
- Participate in meetings with business owners, management teams, advisors, and other transaction counterparties
- Travel periodically for meetings, conferences, diligence, and business development
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 2–4+ years of relevant transaction or investment experience preferred
- Investment banking experience is highly desirable
- Candidates from private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, equity research, or similar backgrounds will also be considered
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Ability to evaluate businesses and think critically about investment opportunities
- Comfortable performing detailed analytical work while also contributing to higher-level strategic conversations
- Entrepreneurial mindset with intellectual curiosity and an interest in evaluating businesses across multiple industries
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to operate successfully within a lean, collaborative, and relatively unstructured environment
- Someone who wants to take ownership, generate ideas, and grow with the organization over the long term
