ProAmpac in Battle Creek, MI, is seeking an experienced industrial Journeyman Electrician to join our talented Maintenance team.

Position Summary:

  • In this role, you would primarily be responsible for responding to trouble calls on industrial equipment while preforming moderate to complex electrical and electronic repairs, installations and adjustments to industrial printing, laminating, slitting, and auxiliary equipment used in the manufacture of Flexible Packaging in our facility. Our maintenance team consists of maintenance mechanics and electricians who work together to maintain and repair our production equipment.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Analyze machine error messages, test results, and operator observations to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Interpret technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, elementary schematics, ladder diagrams and logic diagrams.
  • Coordinate projects and responsibilities with skilled trades (mechanics, Technicians, Operators, etc.) to minimize downtime of equipment.
  • Perform predictive and preventive equipment maintenance.
  • Work within the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS): 
  • Troubleshoot on designated industrial equipment, PLC, Drive, control systems and department machine centers  
  • Use the CMMS system for managing work worders and backlog/documentation, ensure compliance to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements 
  • Maintain necessary record keeping for equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment suitable for the food packaging industry.
  • Suggest ideas to support continuous improvement in all areas of the Company.

Skill & Experiences:

  •  
  • Possession of an electrical license issued by the State of Michigan or Township.
  • Experience 2 to 4 years in a manufacturing environment with the same or similar equipment, components
  • Knowledge of current National Electrical Code and industrial electrical equipment & methods.
  • Understanding of PLC Operation and Wiring.
  • Advanced knowledge of solid-state components, their uses and theory.
  • Documented experience with electronic board trouble-shooting and repair, AC/DC drive troubleshooting and repair and preventative maintenance of industrial electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Control wiring Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Ability to use testing equipment related to industrial electronics.
  • Ability to work with Oscilloscope and navigate Panel Views.
  • Frequency Drive Knowledge.

Wage:

  • $42.84 per hour after completion of 120 days
  • Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd Shift
  • Shift Incentive when working weekends

Shift:

  • 2nd shift is 3pm – 11am
  • 3rd shift is 11pm – 7am
  • *Mandatory OT may be required at the discretion of management including some weekend
