Accountant Position
Build your accounting career with a construction leader LaSalle Network is hiring an accountant to join a well-established, fourth-generation construction company in Cicero. Reporting directly to the controller, this accountant position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization with deep roots in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant seeking exposure to multiple areas of accounting while working in a collaborative, informal environment.
What's the job?
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage subcontractor insurance certificates
- Maintain and update work-in-progress (WIP) schedules
- Perform monthly accounting activities for affiliated companies
- Prepare union reports and support union payroll processes
- Enter customer billings and cash receipts
- Assist with special projects and process improvements
What's needed?
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Construction industry accounting experience preferred
- Experience with union reporting and union payroll
- Experience using accounting software; construction software preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
