Zantech is looking for a talented Junior Human Resources Specialist to contribute to the success of our upcoming Human Resources Management project for a Hybrid role based out of downtown Washington DC.
The Junior Human Resources Specialist will play a crucial role in providing:
- Supplementation of HRM staff with HRM Specialist-related support, including Personnel Staffing for SES and political appointee programs
- Reviewing pre-employment requirements and related staffing support
The Junior Human Resources Specialist provides administrative and records management support for CBP's SES recruitment and staffing programs within the Executive Services Division. This individual must have a solid grounding in federal HR file organization and maintenance procedures and be capable of supporting both short- and long-term project work with minimal supervision. The role supports the accurate and accountable management of SES applicant files, data entry, and statistical reporting.
Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
- Record and file application materials for SES applicants
- Maintain vacancy announcement and applicant files for accountability, integrity, and records administration
- Process incoming SES applicant packages; track receipts and maintain files
- Provide application status updates as requested by the Government
- Compile and prepare application reports and documents pertaining to applicant status
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions
- Perform data entry and electronic record management in support of EXSD operations
- Gather and compile data for statistical reports as directed by the Government
- Identify themselves as a Contractor in all communications, meetings, and correspondence
- Complete and comply with all required NDAs, security awareness, and privacy training
Required Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions:
- 5 years of relevant experience within the area of assignment
- Knowledge of SES ECQs, the OPM QRB review process, and development of ECQ Statements or ECQ templates
- Knowledge of federal HR program functional areas, including file organization and maintenance procedures
- Proven administrative skills relevant to HR operations, including alpha/numeric filing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software
- Fluency with standard office equipment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and respond to inquiries simultaneously
- Ability to perform data entry and compile statistical reports
- Ability to manage short- and long-term projects with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to deal with conflicts and diverse stakeholders
Required Education/Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- OR 5 years of relevant experience within the area of assignment in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
Required Security Clearance:
- US Citizenship required
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) prior to reporting to work
