Salary:KCERA Accountant I: $2,507.68 - $2,996.91, paid bi‑weeklyKCERA Accountant II: $2,912.41 - $3,480.60, paid bi‑weeklyKCERA Senior Accountant: $3,365.64 - $4,022.25, paid bi‑weeklyEXAMINATION SCHEDULEWritten Exam: Will be conducted on July 31, 2026.Written Exam (Weight 100%): Assesses knowledge of financial management, GAAP, GASB, auditing standards, financial statements, bank and securities reconciliations, taxation, payroll laws, actuarial principles, investment products, budgeting.Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.Minimum Qualifications / Employment StandardsKCERA Accountant IEducation and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.KCERA Accountant IIEducation and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, and (3) three years of progressively responsible general accounting and/or auditing experience, or (2) years of experience in governmental accounting and/or auditing.KCERA Senior AccountantEducation and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. If the major is not accounting, at least 15 semester units or 25 quarter units of college‑level accounting courses must have been completed, or evidence of having passed all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination, or possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate.At least four years of progressively responsible full‑time professional‑level accounting and/or auditing experience, or two years of experience at a level equivalent to KCERA Accountant.Applicants should attach transcripts, degrees, licenses, or certifications to their application.
