Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Homeschool Enrichment Teacher to join our dynamic team 2026 - 2027 school year. The Kindergarten Homeschool Enrichment Teacher ignites curiosity and creativity in our youngest learners through discovery-based, hands-on exploration. This educator introduces foundational concepts in science, engineering, and computer science in developmentally appropriate ways that nurture problem-solving, collaboration, and a love of learning. Through play, inquiry, and design challenges, students learn to think like scientists, build like engineers, and create like coders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons in science, engineering, and computer science that align with STEM School Highlands Ranch standards and philosophy.
  • Facilitate hands-on experiments and design challenges that promote exploration, observation, and creative problem solving.
  • Introduce foundational engineering design process concepts such as asking questions, imagining solutions, building prototypes, and improving designs.
  • Teach early computational thinking and coding skills through unplugged activities and simple programming platforms (e.g., Code.org, Bee-Bots, ScratchJr).
  • Integrate STEM learning across literacy, math, and art to provide a holistic, engaging experience.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and exploratory classroom culture that celebrates curiosity, persistence, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with other educators to support interdisciplinary connections and program alignment across grade levels.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, STEM Education, or related field.
  • Valid state teaching license or endorsement in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
  • Experience working with young learners in problem-based, hands-on STEM settings.
  • Strong understanding of child development and how young children learn through exploration and play.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both students and families.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
  • Ability to run short distances.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.

Schedule:

  • Tuesdays; four 8 week sessions from late August until May
  • Includes 5 professional development and room set up days
  • 1- Friday field trips each 8 week session
  • Total working days 41 days (August- May)
  • 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This position will be open until filled, but will not be open past: August 31, 2026.
