Key Project Requirements:

• 10+ years of electrical commissioning, startup, operations, or maintenance experience supporting utility-scale power generation projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading commissioning activities for high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear, synchronization, black-start capability, and island mode operation.
• Strong understanding of electrical system turnover, energization, commissioning procedures, functional testing, synchronization, and performance testing.
• Proven leadership experience coordinating commissioning engineers, OEM representatives, contractors, and client personnel throughout the commissioning lifecycle.

Job Summary:

NAES is seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning Supervisor - Electrical to support commissioning activities for a large-scale power generation project in Texas. This position provides technical leadership for all electrical commissioning activities, ensuring electrical systems are safely commissioned, tested, energized, and placed into commercial operation. The successful candidate will coordinate field execution, oversee electrical commissioning engineers, and work closely with engineering, construction, operations, OEM representatives, and project leadership throughout system turnover, startup, and project completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical commissioning activities from construction completion through startup, reliability testing, and commercial operation.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, work packages, and testing strategies for electrical systems.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, OEM representatives, operations personnel, and project leadership.
• Supervise electrical commissioning engineers while ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.
• Oversee commissioning of generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), HV/MV/LV distribution systems, and associated electrical balance of plant equipment.
• Lead system walkdowns, turnover verification, punch list resolution, and electrical readiness activities.
• Support system energization, synchronization, black-start testing, island mode operation, load bank testing, and performance testing.
• Identify commissioning issues, develop corrective action plans, and provide routine progress updates to project leadership.

Job Requirements:

• Strong understanding of electrical commissioning principles and startup methodologies for utility-scale power generation facilities.
• Experience commissioning generators, switchgear, transformers, substations, and electrical balance of plant systems.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, protection drawings, vendor manuals, and commissioning procedures.
• Working knowledge of electrical protection systems, synchronization, and system energization.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with experience coordinating EPC contractors, OEM representatives, and multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
• Ability to work extended schedules during critical commissioning and startup activities.

Education / Experience:

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting commissioning, startup, construction, operations, or maintenance of utility-scale power generation facilities.
• Experience with GE, Siemens, or comparable OEM electrical equipment is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience on simple-cycle, combined-cycle, reciprocating engine, BESS, or large industrial power generation projects is preferred.
