Summary/Objective

The Legal Assistant works under the direction of the General Counsel, assisting the Legal and Compliance team by performing highly varied, complex and confidential tasks to ensure department and organizational operations flow smoothly. This position is critical to reducing operational and reputational risk to the organization by providing support to varied members of the organization in a timely and organized manner.

Essential Functions

• Executive Support : Provide executive admin support to the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel, including but not limited to research and investigation regarding various legal and non-legal matters pertaining to the credit union, response to legal document production requests from various third parties, maintenance of legal documentation, including but not limited to the historical member agreements and disclosures, coordination of in-house litigation and general administrative and clerical support.
• Compliance & Legal team support: Manage vendor and invoicing for the team, provide compliance review support to other functions of the business
• Executive admin team support: Assist Executive Admin team as necessary or requested with preparation and execution of employee events as well as operational rhythm board of directors or committee meetings. Maintain and publish minutes, bylaws and policies as appropriate.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

• Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant is desirable, but not absolutely required if applicant possesses equivalent or other work experience in a similar work environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of credit union core systems.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex and sensitive information in a discrete and confidential manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail with good time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience

• Previous work experience in the financial services industry
• Previous experience with credit union internal computer systems
• Previous customer service experience

Work Environment

Elevations uses multi-factor authentication to keep our data safe. As such, a personal smartphone is a requirement for employment with us. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Compensation Information:

The person hired into this position will likely earn between $71,973 and $89,966 annual salary, plus annual bonus.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
