As a contributing team member, the Legal Assistant is pro-active in balancing multiple work demands, taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their work, and maintaining client and Firm confidentiality. The ideal candidate maintains a professional demeanor and focus while remaining flexible to provide assistance in various critical areas throughout the Firm.Responsibilities:Manage the day-to-day schedules of the attorneys, including but not limited to managing attorney calendars, coordinating travel arrangements, planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, depositions, recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, filing requirements, discovery and evidence-gathering, opening and sorting mail, and transcribing and entering attorneys' time entriesPrepare and edit documents such as letters, memoranda, briefs, pleadings, agreements, contracts, table of authorities, table of contents and other legal documentsConsistently open, maintain, and organize digital case filesReview and revise monthly billing forms for accuracy and completenessPrepare exhibits and witness filesArrange for court reporters, video conferencing, depositions, and meetingsCommunicate, both orally and in writing, with clients, court reporters, opposing counsel's staff, and internal colleaguesPrepare spreadsheets and presentations using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, as well as using Relativity in connection with e-discoveryProcess reimbursements, expense reports, and check requestsEducation Required:Experience Required:Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or paralegalSkills Required:Proficiently use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet research skills, documentmanagement systems, attorney time entry software, DocXtools, calendar management through OutlookExhibit high levels of organization and attention-to-detailComfortably work under extreme deadlines while remaining calm and organizedDemonstrate organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize more than one task for more than one attorneyBuild collaborative relationships with other functional areas within the Firm to meet deadlines and solve issues, demonstrating professionalism with internal and external clients, and maintaining the ability to anticipate and act as a member of the team by assisting when and where the Firm needs their helpOccasional overtime may be required to meet the clients' urgent needsPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerThe expected salary range for this position ranges from $75,000-$90,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
