OverviewTrueline's client, a top-tier global law firm with a renowned commercial litigation practice, is seeking a Litigation Legal Support Specialist to join their litigation department in Chicago (in-office presence required ~4+ days/week). This role offers an opportunity to support high-stakes matters across federal and state courts, working with a sophisticated team on complex commercial litigation.What You'll Do as the Litigation Legal Support SpecialistProvide full scope litigation and legal support for attorneys: assist in all phases of litigation (motions, discovery, trial and post-trial)Edit, format and prepare documents/pleadings (motions, subpoenas, deposition notices, discovery requests/responses, affidavits, contracts)Execute electronic filings in both federal and state courts (ECF, Odyssey, etc.)Organize case files, trial exhibits, witness binders, deposition coordination, maintain docket calendars and attorney travel/meeting schedulesManage high-volume telephone coverage, message distribution, and correspondence with clients and internal teamsHandle expense reports, time-keeping review, document management, billing liaison tasks and other administrative duties as neededMaintain confidentiality, exercise strong judgment and work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentMust-Haves as the Litigation Legal Support Specialist5-10 years of administrative/legal support experience within a litigation practice (commercial litigation preferred)Proven experience with both state and federal court e-filingsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); comfort learning new legal software/toolsStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to follow through, and work well under pressureDiscretion in handling confidential client and attorney informationAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and work with minimal training/training-reversible tasksMust be willing to work overtime when needed and be onsite in the office most business daysNice-to-Haves as the Litigation Legal Support SpecialistExperience in a large-firm litigation support environmentFamiliarity with court filing systems such as Odyssey, ECF or equivalentsExperience with Intapp, Chrome River (or other time/expense systems), or billing/secretarial team liaison workExposure to organizing trial logistics (travel, exhibits, binders) and coordinating across teamsComfort working as part of a team of support professionals in a dynamic environmentOur Client OffersA role in a high-profile litigation group within a globally recognized firm known for cutting-edge commercial disputes and trial workOpportunity to work directly in litigation support on complex matters, gain exposure to both state and federal court processes, and collaborate with top attorneys and support staffA professional environment that values initiative, accuracy and independence, with ample opportunity to contribute meaningfullyA workplace committed to equal opportunity and an inclusive cultureTrueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
