LHH is seeking a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant for a well-established law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role will support attorneys handling a mix of bankruptcy and complex commercial litigation matters.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys in bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters
Draft, format, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings [
Coordinate filings in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, including electronic filing systems
Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic) and track key deadlines
Prepare deposition materials, trial binders, exhibits, and other supporting documentation
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
Assist with billing entries, timekeeping, and general administrative support
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation and/or bankruptcy
Experience supporting bankruptcy proceedings and familiarity with related filings and documentation preferred
Strong understanding of court procedures and deadlines (state, federal, and bankruptcy courts)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software; e-filing experience required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while supporting a team
