Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Waukesha, WI

Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week

Work Arrangement: Onsite

A respected law firm in the Waukesha area is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a growing litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

The firm is experiencing continued growth in litigation and eminent domain matters and is looking to add a strong litigation support professional to its team. The ideal candidate will bring solid litigation experience, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supporting attorneys and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation matters

  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents

  • Electronically file court documents and ensure proper service on all parties

  • Coordinate subpoena requests and work with process servers

  • Prepare and finalize discovery responses and litigation filings

  • Manage attorney calendars, court dates, deadlines, and related litigation tasks

  • Monitor active case files and proactively identify upcoming attorney needs

  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, judicial assistants, court personnel, and staff

  • Maintain accurate case records and document management systems

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of legal assistant experience, with a strong focus on litigation

  • Civil litigation experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements

  • Experience with state and county court systems

  • Strong understanding of e-filing processes and document formatting requirements

  • Exceptional proofreading, grammar, spelling, and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Experience with document management and docketing systems is a plus

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $80,000 based on experience and legal background
