Litigation Legal Secretary
Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys within a fast-paced litigation practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day administrative and legal support to assigned litigation attorneys.
- Serving as a point of contact by professionally answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries as appropriate.
- Preparing, revising, and finalizing legal documents and correspondence, including formatting, proofreading, and distribution.
- Reviewing incoming materials and routing correspondence, pleadings, and reports to appropriate parties.
- Drafting routine letters and legal documents based on attorney direction.
- Coordinating meetings, depositions, and conferences, including scheduling court reporters, expert witnesses, and other third parties.
- Managing attorney calendars, tracking court deadlines, and maintaining accurate docketing of filings and appearances.
- Assisting with electronic filing in various courts and maintaining organized electronic and physical files.
- Communicating with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other external parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting billing activities, including time entry review, expense submissions, and invoice preparation.
- Ensuring sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately at all times.
- Assisting with special assignments and projects as needed to support the legal team.
Qualifications include:
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary.
- Prior experience working in a personal injury law firm or legal environment, supporting litigation attorneys.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and law firm workflows.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems.
