Locum Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit (NP or PA)

Palm Health Resources is hiring for a Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit locum APP.

This is an ongoing locum need.

Start date: November 26, 2026

end date: ongoing

Position Details:

We will have an ongoing need for a cardiac surgery stepdown unit APP.

Weekday Shift: 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm)

Provide clinical care to patients transitioning from the Cardiac Surgery ICU to the step-down setting; evaluate and develop plan of care for new patient consults

Perform detailed assessments, monitor/evaluate cardiac status, manage patient through the pre-post-op period, initiate/refine medical management, participate in multi-disciplinary rounds, care coordination, discharge planning and education, chest tube/pacing wire removal, wound care

Shift-based schedule including rotating weekends and holidays

No Call/No Nights

Qualifications:

Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

ICU experience is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of nationally accredited Physician Assistant (PA), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Program, or Family Nurse Practitioner with ICU experience. New graduates are welcome to apply
• Current PA/NP licensure in appropriate state
