Logistics Coordinator
Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.
Knowledge of transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations preferred.
Essential Functions
Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) software to manage daily inbound and outbound shipments, maintain accurate ETA records, and update internal systems with estimated warehouse arrival dates.
Monitor shipment activity and proactively communicate delivery delays, failed loads, OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged) issues, scheduling conflicts, and other disruptions that may impact operations or costs.
Source and secure competitive transportation rates through spot market bidding platforms and established carrier relationships.
Negotiate freight rates and service agreements to support cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency.
Serve as a key point of contact between Operations, Purchasing, Carriers, Vendors, and Branch locations regarding shipment status, delays, and issue resolution.
Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly transportation and performance reports.
Prioritize workload based on operational needs, delivery requirements, and business impact.
Identify and address root causes of delivery delays, including carrier performance issues, vendor scheduling challenges, loading/unloading inefficiencies, and communication gaps.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation performance, service levels, and cost management.
