Mainframe Software Engineer

Introduction

Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs. They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality, and deploying the software to meet customer requirements. They are expected to leverage AI-assisted development tools and techniques to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and enhance team productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CA-7, Performance Testing, and Job Control Language (JCL)
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Software Testing
• Experience with Z/OS, AIPGEE, and Batch Processing
• Strong skills in Requirements Analysis, SQL, and IBM DB2
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Process Improvement
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Big Query
• Data Migration and Data Management skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements
• Solve complex problems using various tools, languages, frameworks, and methodologies
• Create high-level software architecture designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like product owners, designers, and architects
• Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies, and processes
• Continuously improve performance and optimize the application
• Support security practices to safeguard user data
• Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
• Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies
