Trak group is partnering with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead maintenance operations within a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment. This leadership role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, controlling maintenance costs, and developing preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven maintenance leader with a strong background in reliability engineering, asset management, and team development who can partner effectively with Operations and Engineering to improve overall plant performance.
Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance organization supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Develop and execute strategies to improve asset reliability, equipment availability, uptime, and maintenance cost performance.
Establish and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Identify recurring equipment failures and drive solutions that reduce unplanned downtime.
Monitor maintenance performance and implement improvements to increase plant reliability and productivity.
Partner with Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
Drive maintenance best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead change-management efforts designed to strengthen maintenance processes and performance.
Develop, mentor, coach, and hold accountable a high-performing maintenance team.
Build strong relationships across Operations, Engineering, and the maintenance organization.
Effectively lead and collaborate within a unionized workforce environment.
Promote a culture of urgency, accountability, safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Bachelors degree required.
Demonstrated success leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.
Strong background in reliability engineering and asset management.
Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Strong understanding of equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and maintenance cost management.
Experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
Ability to drive accountability and measurable improvements in maintenance performance.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills with experience partnering with Operations and Engineering.
Results-oriented leadership style with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment.
Union manufacturing environment experience.
Experience leading maintenance in a 24/7 operation.
Reliability-centered maintenance experience.
Experience implementing maintenance best practices and organizational change.
Background improving asset availability, maintenance costs, and overall equipment performance.
