    Employment Type: Per Diem
    Shift: Days
    Hours Per Week: As scheduled
     Hiring range: Starting at $32.96/ hourly 
     

    Below are the shift differentials based on eligible shifts worked:

    • Weekday evening shift - additional 10% plus $2.00 per hour
    • Weekday night shift - additional 15% plus $3.00 per hour 
    • Weekend day shift - additional 10%
    • Weekend evening & night shifts - additional 21%
    The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
    • Educates patients and provides explanation of imaging procedures to gain patient cooperation while reducing anxieties.
    • Evaluates the quality of images and adjusts factors if an image needs to be repeated.
    • Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
    • Ensures all required documentation, requisitions, forms, charges, and patient’s medical record are completed.
    • Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.
    • Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
    • Works with mammogram letters (results/reminders).

    Education, Training & Experience:

    • Completion of AMA approved school of radiological technology. Minimum of two years experience as a mammography technologist preferred.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the New York Department of Health obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the New York Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
