This role oversees general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting functions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, supporting audits, and improving business processes through technology and best practices. The role requires strong leadership and a solid understanding of project-based accounting within construction materials operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations and Close ManagementManage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries and account reconciliationsAnalyze general ledger activity to identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesEnsure accurate and timely financial statement preparationOversee payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger functionsManage sales and use tax, property tax, and regulatory reportingOversee fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, and disposalsEnsure accurate inventory accounting and valuation processesMaintain compliance with GAAP and internal policiesAudit and ReportingCoordinate external audits and prepare required documentationEnsure audit readiness through strong controls and documentationEvaluate accounting procedures for effectiveness and complianceBusiness Process Improvement and SystemsEvaluate and improve standard operating procedures for scalability and efficiencyDrive automation and process improvements across accounting functionsEnhance reporting capabilities through improved tools and analyticsLeadership and Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop accounting staffFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementSupervise team performance and align with company goalsDrive employee engagement through training and development initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required8+ years of progressive accounting experience requiredCPA strongly preferred8–10+ years of experience managing general ledger, payroll, AP, fixed assets, and inventory functionsStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExperience leading external auditsExperience in aggregates, construction materials, mining, manufacturing, or similar industries preferredAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skillsExperience with ERP systems (Vista preferred), BI tools, and reporting platformsDemonstrated leadership experience with direct team supervisionKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesHigh attention to detail and process orientationOffice-based with cross-functional collaboration.Periodic interaction with operational teams and leadership.Equal Opportunity EmployerSunrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer and makes all employment decisions without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, citizen status, or any other legally protected status under local, state, or federal law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
