The Turnaround Material Marshaller serves as the vital link between warehouse logistics, maintenance planning, and field execution during an upcoming hydrocarbons turnaround. This role is responsible for staging, kitting, verifying, and distributing critical materials, piping, valves, and components to field staging areas. The ideal candidate pairs safe sit-down forklift operation with disciplined inventory control in SAP, ensuring field crews have 100% of required materials on time to support schedule execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Kitting, Staging & Distribution
Safely operate sit-down forklifts and approved material handling equipment to receive, move, stage, and distribute industrial materials, piping, and equipment across designated plant laydown yards and satellite staging areas.
Build, verify, and tag complete material kits for critical-path and Critical Reliability Equipment (CRE) work orders in strict alignment with the daily turnaround schedule.
Maintain clean, organized, clearly demarcated, and barricaded staging locations; remove obsolete, returned, or scrap materials promptly.
2. SAP & Inventory Integrity
Execute real-time material status updates in SAP, including goods receipts, staging movements, kit completion statuses, and field transfers.
Conduct regular physical counts against SAP reservations to identify shortages, discrepancies, or missing items before jobs reach the field.
Utilize handheld scanners, digital tablets, and mobile inventory tools to capture electronic chain-of-custody and location tracking.
3. Shift Handover, MSR Tracking & Documentation
Maintain comprehensive chain-of-custody paperwork and turn in completed staging logs to Turnaround Coordinators at the end of each shift.
Reconcile daily logs against the Material Status Report (MSR) and ensure corresponding work order reservations in SAP are updated and filed accurately.
Proactively escalate material risks, late deliveries, and field constraints to Planners, Coordinators, and Maintenance Supervisors during daily shift handoffs.
4. Turnaround Closeout & Demobilization
Coordinate post-turnaround material reconciliation, return-to-inventory (RTI) disposition, vendor returns, and surplus scrap handling in accordance with site environmental and asset-recovery procedures.
Ensure all temporary laydown areas, conex containers, and staging racks are cleared, inventoried, and restored to baseline operating conditions.
