The Mechanic II/ Shop helper will work under supervision to assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This is an entry-level position intended to provide hands-on training and on-the-job learning to develop skills required for a career as a qualified Millwright.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation and alignment of industrial machinery, equipment, and mechanical components.
Support senior Service Techs in performing preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Learn and apply proper rigging techniques, including hoisting and lifting.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Complete work reports at the end of the day
Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials safely.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Participate in job-specific and safety-related training as required.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic understanding of modern technology
Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn a skilled trade.
Ability to take direction and work in a team-oriented environment.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Willingness to travel to various job sites and work in various weather conditions.
Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing, bending, and climbing as required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
