Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Duration: 20 Weeks
Schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a 20-week contract assignment in Kalamazoo, MI. This role supports both front and back office operations while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-focused approach to care. Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and patients across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support both front and back office clinical operations
- Greet, room, and assist patients during appointments
- Schedule patient appointments and manage incoming calls
- Take and document patient vital signs accurately
- Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures
- Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures
- Conduct EKGs and Point-of-Care (POC) testing
- Maintain accurate documentation within EMR systems
- Provide additional clinical support as needed
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff
- Ensure a positive patient experience through professionalism and communication
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
- 2–3 years of overall healthcare experience preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
- Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
- Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience required
- EMR experience required
- BLS or CPR Certification required
- Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
