Position Overview

San Ysidro Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a 3-month temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Medical Assistant experience, completed a required externship, and hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Completion of a course of study consistent with the Medical Assistant requirements established by the Medical Board of California.

Required Certification

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Experience Requirements

• Completion of the externship required by the Medical Assisting Program.

• Minimum of one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.

Language and Communication Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and understand medical information and terminology.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly.
