p>Patient vital signs, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, and respiration Rooming, intake, including questionnaire and medication reconciliation Prepares patients for examinations with proper caps, drapes, and supplies Cleans and sanitizes exam room after each patient Assists with minor procedures Collects specimens, blood, urine, etc., and labels appropriately Administers injections or medications after completion of 10 hours of medication management training Performs basic point-of-care tests, EKGs, hearing, and visual acuity Applies principles of aseptic technique and infection control as directed by the Infection Control policy and procedures Maintains exam room inventory and replenishes medical supplies and materials throughout the day as needed Maintains inventory logs Participates and responds when assigned to clinical emergency codes Autoclave cleaning, processing, sterilizing, and checking of instruments, and maintaining logs. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
• Continuous standing, walking, twisting • Occasionally lifts, pushes, and/or transfers patients • Exposed to unpleasant elements, accidents, injuries, and illness • Ability to work a varied 40 hours per week schedule, including evenings and/or weekends between the hours of 8 AM to PM • Reliable transportation necessary for occasional traveling to assist with providing coverage at SYH clinics within San Diego County.
