Metal Processing Machine Operator / (Direct Hire) Night Shift

The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnering with an established Richland County, Ohio area manufacturer to find a mechanically inclined Metal Processing Machine Operator to support its production line on night shift for up to $21.50/hr.

Night Shift | 8pm–6:30am | $19.50–$21.50/hour | Direct Hire

DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Never go through a temp-to-hire process. If selected, DAY ONE you are this company's employee. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience operating industrial machinery, working with metal, or adjusting equipment to meet production specifications.

We're looking for someone who understands there's more to running machinery than pushing buttons. You'll be involved in keeping production moving, making equipment adjustments, checking measurements, identifying quality concerns, and helping ensure finished products meet specifications.

Experience with steel tubing or tube mills is a plus, but we're also interested in candidates with transferable experience in metal fabrication, roll forming, steel processing, welding, or other technical machine operation environments.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work with equipment used to turn steel coils into finished tubing. Depending on your assigned area and training, responsibilities may include:

• Operate and monitor industrial equipment used in steel tubing production.
• Set up and adjust machine settings using HMI controls.
• Prepare, inspect, and feed steel coils into production equipment.
• Operate cutting and finishing machinery to produce tubing to required lengths.
• Use tape measures, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions.
• Monitor production quality and make adjustments when material is out of specification.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and routine upkeep.
• Perform steel strip preparation and coil end welding when assigned to that area.
• Inspect finished products, document production information, and track scrap.
• Work closely with other operators to keep production running safely and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial machine operation, metalworking, or a similar environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of how production equipment operates.
• Ability to read measurements, follow work orders, and recognize quality concerns.
• Comfortable making machine adjustments and learning new equipment.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding is valuable and required for end welding duties.
• Previous tube mill, roll forming, steel processing, or cut off equipment experience is a plus.
• Experience with overhead cranes or material handling equipment is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Dependable attendance, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Schedule & Compensation

• Shift: 2nd Shift (Overnight)
• Hours: 8pm–6:30am
• Pay: $19.50–$21.50/hour, including a $1.50 shift differential
• Employment: Full Time, Direct Hire
• Location: Mansfield, Ohio
