About this position: Midwest Senior Project Manager Location – St. Louis, MO The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Wage/Salary Range: $190k Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Monitor safety, quality control, and efficiency on projects Develop and proactively manage schedules and budgets Ensure compliance with the Quality Control Plan, Specifications, and Contracts by subcontractors and trades Review and approve submittals Interface with the client, internal teams, and subcontractors to provide reports and ensure quality deliverables Meet schedule performance and financial objectives by tracking and forecasting project progress and requirements Assist the Site Supervisor and Site Safety Officer to establish a culture of safety on project sites Supervise technical staff responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining plans, permits, and standard operating procedures for projects. Coordinate, supervise and review work assigned to project personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness. Lead and support business development and proposal preparation. Estimate self-performed/subcontractor work, price labor, equipment, and material costs. Manage subcontractors. Up to fifty percent travel to jobsites will be required. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, construction management, or related field; or 20+ years of directly relevant experience managing environmental remediation, heavy civil construction, site restoration, earthwork, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, safety, and quality in lieu of degree. Level of Experience Requirements: Experience developing or supporting cost estimates, schedules, subcontractor scopes, labor/equipment/material pricing, cost tracking, and invoicing for environmental remediation and/or construction projects. Experience supporting federal construction quality control requirements, including USACE QA/QC processes, Contractor Quality Control Plans, submittals, daily reporting, and field documentation. Ability to travel to project sites when required sites Ability to pass a background check to obtain access to military bases Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, USACE Resident Management System (RMS) for submittals, daily reporting, QC documentation, and project recordkeeping. Excellent written and verbal communication Advanced computer skills Ability to read drawings / prints and specifications Experience with scheduling Ability to identify value-engineering alternatives Prior advanced cost proposal and work breakdown development experience Ability to prepare and review technical documents Must be task oriented and self-motivated with the inherent ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as team members as well as a team lead Experience working with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Preferred Twenty-five plus (25+) years in equivalent experience in environmental remediation and construction activities Current OSHA 30 and 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred Current experience with federal clients including AFCEC, NAVFAC, USACE, USEPA, and others Previous experience with disaster relief and recovery type projects (i.e. hurricane recovery) Familiarity with the Small Business Association federal contracting rules and regulations, particularly with Alaska Native Corporations. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will have supervisory responsibilities. Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of project personnel. General Direction: receive general guidance with respect to overall objectives; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives. DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions. Necessary Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at times lift and carry as much at 50 pounds. The ability to properly use personnel protective equipment (PPE) including the required use at all times of hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, and hearing protection. Work Environment The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Work is primarily performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
