Title: Model Based Systems Engineer – Sr (contingent 034)

Location: APG, MD

TS/SCI clearance required

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize an integrated system solution through concurrent consideration of development, manufacturing, test and evaluation, verification, deployment, and operations.
  • Perform systems engineering activities that may include, but are not limited to:
  • Acquisition management advice and recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of all Adaptive Acquisition Framework Pathways (Urgent Capability Acquisition, Middle Tier Acquisition, Major Capability Acquisition, Software Acquisition, and Defense Business Systems), MIL HDBK 245 (Handbook for the preparation of SOW), and MIL HDBK 61A (Configuration Management).
  • Coordination with CPE Headquarters staff (i.e., budget, systems engineering, logistics, and contracts planning) to identify, prepare, review, and track approval of program documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and staff engineering and programmatic documents, such as: Systems Engineering Plan, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Information Support Plan, Program Protection Plan, Materiel Release Package, and Cybersecurity Strategy.
  • Participate in technical reviews, including events leading to and after the review, such as: Software Specification Review, System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Production Readiness Review, Functional Configuration Audit, and Physical Configuration Audit.
  • Understanding of the IEEE 15288.2 (Technical Reviews), IEEE 15288.1, and CPE IEW&S Policy for Technical Review.
  • Participate in the weekly/bi-weekly integrated product teams and working groups by offering subject matter expertise.
  • Consult with Army leadership on Lessons Learned, Executive Summaries, and CPE IEW&S policies and procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Post-Award Conferences.
  • Review all systems engineering documentation in preparation for Milestone Decision Reviews.
  • Develop, analyze, and track programs’ programs’ Integrated Master Schedules and Risks.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback pertaining to: (1) the system’s reliability and maintainability requirements IAW AR 702-19 (Reliability and Maintainability). (2) the system’s hardware and software quality requirements IAW MIL STD 810, MIL STD 461, MIL STD 464, AR 70-1, AR 70-38, and AR 73-1; (3) the system’s cybersecurity requirements IAW NIST 800-37 (Guide for Applying the RMF), NIST 800-39 (Managing Information Security Risks), NIST 800-53/-53A (Security and Privacy Controls), NIST 800-60 (Guide for Mapping Types of Information and Information Systems to Security Categories), NIST 800-137 (Information Security Continuous Monitoring), and CNSS Instruction 1253 (Security Categorization and control Selection for National security Systems); and (4) the system’s architecture needs, i.e., developing and representing architecture descriptions that ensure a common denominator for understanding, comparing, and integrating architectures across organizational boundaries IAW the DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF).

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of (8) years related work experience is required.
  • Experience with technologies for C2, ISR, Cyber, EW, sensor integration, etc.
  • TS/SCI clearance is required.
